Extended Closure Order on an Address by Bell Green Retail Park, SE26 |
I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.
On Friday 19th June 2026, PC Meyer attended Bromley Magistrates' Court in order to apply to extend the current closure order on an address by the Bell Green Retail Park, SE26. This address was known for drug misuse, including drug dealing, drug taking, and general anti-social behaviour at the location due to the drug activity. The original closure order was necessary to provide immediate relief from the criminality at the location to the local community whilst Southern Housing repossess the property to provide a long-term solution to the issues from the address. Bromley Magistrates' Court granted the extension to the order for a further three month period, expiring on 19/09/2026. Whilst the extended order is in place, this will prevent the occupant returning to the location; this means that the issues at the address will not return during the period of the closure order. In the meantime, Southern Housing are waiting for a court date to get possession of the property. The local residents have stated that their lives have got so much better, and the issues from the location have completely stopped since the order has been in place. Bellingham SNT are working very closely with the housing, and the reports from residents have been invaluable in both getting the original closure order granted and extended so thank you for your assistance. We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.
